Yu Gardens and Bazarre

It was a bit drizzlly in the morning on Monday, but still we headed out to the Yu Gardens and Bazarre, which is always crazy and entertaining.  The bazarre is so busy and sells such random stuff, and the food smells are rather an assault on the senses!  In true form, we ate at a local place, sharing several dishes of rice, noodles, crab, dumplings, spring rolls and something squishy that we couldn't quite identify.  The rest of it was delicious!  Matt only joined us for lunch as he has caught the cold that I got in Beijing that has left me feeling very unwell for a few days.  I seem to be on the mend now though.

Mum, Dad and I went for a wander in the lovely gardens, which are not quite as busy as the bazarre since you have to pay £4 to get into them.  They are actually fairly small, but seem huge because of all the twists and turns in the paths, and lots of different garden areas with rockeries, pavilions and ponds with terrapins and huge koi fish.

We also went into the Shanghai city temple, which I had not done before.  Temples are always interesting places to be, especially if they are in popular use.  Temples are for the various gods of wealth, prosperity, literature, seriously anything you can think of, there will be a god to it!

Mum and Dad carried on wandering the bazarre for a bit, while Matt and I headed home to sleep off our colds.  We had a quiet night in because Tuesday was Disney day!
