On Friday we spent a while at the local Carrefour supermarket, giving Mum and Dad a taste of the craziness of Shanghai food shopping. Trips to Carrefour after school now fill me with dread, for the noise and chaos are just a bit too stressful after a long day at work! Mum and Dad seemed to enjoy themselves though, which is the main thing.
We played with the cats for a while, and in the evening went out to the bund for dinner at Goodfellas, a fabulous Italian restaurant. This was followed by a ferry crossing over the river to see all of the skyscrapers lit up at night - quite a sight! Then we went up to Cloud 87, the bar at the top of Jinmao Tower. We have been up there before, but it's become a classic for our visitors because you get fabulous views of the bund and the city. We were mezmerised by the lights and adverts flashing up all over the tall buildings.
The Bund at night is really something!
