First Week Back

We have survived the first week back, mostly unscathed - Matt started the week off by being hit by a car while cycling to work on his bike!  He is fine now!  He landed on his knee and bashed it up quite badly.  The silly driver just wasn't looking properly, and managed to drive over his bike on her way to park up around the corner too!  We are getting the cost of the bike back from her though, so all's well on that front.  We had an inset day on Monday, so there were no kids in. Matt should really have gone home, but he had lots of work to do so just stayed in.  It wasn't until we were on the tram home and he went ghost white that the adrenaline left him!  He slept for 2 hours when we got home!

So, an eventful start to the week.  The kids came back in on Tuesday, and the week has been long and hard work, not for any particular reason, that's just how it is when you've had three weeks off.  The summer term is a very nice one, with lots of three and four day weekends.  We have lots of visitors coming out to stay with us, and we are planning lots of trips to the lake for BBQs.  The weather has been lovely, and it has inspired me to start doing the Couch to 5K pod casts.  You go running three times a week and build up to 5K over 9 weeks.  I've finished the first week, and it's gone really well, so I'm pleased.

Yesterday, we went with a couple of friends to see the new Avengers movie in Dusseldorf.  The film was really good, and Matt was happy with his Avengers keyring that he got when he bought the popcorn!  We went for a Chinese buffet before it, which was fantastic!

I don't have many photos to show from this week, but since I have been mostly helping people doing new displays (I've made a Tardis and Dr Who Minion, giant flowers, a huge French flag etc), I thought I would share some of the creations from last terms Year 5 play, including the Achievement Award that I got from the Year 5 kids for helping out.
