4th July and Yu Gardens Renaissance Hotel

It's been a nice week, with not much to think about; just a relaxing time to be had by all.

On Wednesday, it was the 4th July, so we went over to our American friends to celebrate with them, by eating a truly obscene amount of nachos/cheese/mince/guacamole, followed by board games and root beer floats. yum!

On Thursday, Matt and I had the first of our 'stay-cations' in Shanghai hotels.  This one was at the Yu Gardens Renaissance, which is a very posh hotel close to the bund.  Matt had booked us into an executive suite, so we had an incredible view over the bund, the Yu Gardens and the city of Shanghai.  Unfortunately, it was raining, so we couldn't see a lot of the buildings, but still, one heck of a view!

The room came with access to the executive club lounge, which had free afternoon tea, drinks, cocktails, canapes to pick at for dinner, and dessert, so we ended up just spending our evening in the club lounge, grazing at the food offerings.

We also made use of the lovely infinity pool, with a fab view!  So nice to go swimming!

A lovely time was had by all.

We had late check out on Friday, so went straight to my MRI appointment at the hospital after checking out.  The MRI was fine, no problems at all.  We will get the results on Monday.
